Bees Pitching Ravaged by Nossek
Even as a kid, Joe Nossek said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At San Jose Municipal Stadium, Nossek showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 29-year-old right fielder had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Modesto Reds, helping his team knock off the San Jose Bees by a score of 7-5.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
Joe Nossek doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Gary DeBenedetti in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and doubled in the 8th.
Nossek has collected 27 hits for the Reds this year, 2 of them home runs. He has also netted 10 RBIs and scored 14 runs while batting .355.
