Gonsalves Dominates Memphis

Larry Gonsalves kept the Memphis Blues hitters from doing much damage at Blues Stadium.

Memphis could only muster 10 hits and draw 4 walks against the right-handed Gonsalves, who controlled them throughout the game. Amarillo won the contest, 5-0. Gonsalves added 10 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.

"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Gonsalves told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."

Gonsalves has made 6 starts so far this year and put up a 3-4 won-lost record with a 4.66 ERA. In 58 innings he has allowed 86 hits, walked 27 and struck out 47.
