Oklahoma City Loses Mims for 6 Months
Edward Mims had hoped for the best, but expected the worst. Today, he learned from the Oklahoma City medical staff that he would miss the rest of the season. The Oklahoma City reliever suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in an earlier ballgame. He admitted to being discouraged, but said he plans to come back strong next year.
He has made 9 relief appearances this year with 0 saves. Mims has achieved a 1-0 record while holding opposing hitters to a .275 batting average and posting a 5.40 ERA. He has tossed 10 innings, given up 11 base hits, fanned 5 and issued 3 walks.
