Olson Skunks Cocoa, 4-0

"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.

Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.

Bruce Olson of the Fort Lauderdale Yankees proved the point at Fort Lauderdale Stadium, holding the Cocoa Astros to 1 hit in a complete game shutout victory.

"Olson made us look real bad today," Astros manager <John Agosto:coach#476> said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."

Olson had 11 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Yankees took the 4-0 win.

This season, Olson has rung up 2 wins and 2 losses in 19 games. He has an ERA of 3.44 and has fanned 48 batters in 49.2 innings.
