Wood and White Traded
In an effort to add some depth to its roster, the Chicago White Sox have swapped 28-year old LHP Wilbur Wood to the Montreal Expos for 19-year old minor league LHP Balor Moore and 17-year old minor league 2B Jerry White. The White Sox GM told reporters, "We saw a chance to upgrade our ball club and took it."
Up to this point in the season, Wood has put up these stats: 33 relief appearances, 12 saves, 57.2 IP, 42 strikeouts and 2.81 ERA. His won-lost record is 2-3 with the opposition is hitting .271 against him.
White Sox and Expos Reportedly in Talks
Rumors around the league suggest the Chicago White Sox and the Montreal Expos are deep in talks. It's unsure which players are generating the most discussion between the teams, but talks have heated up of late.
Chicago sits in 5th place in the American League West Division with a 29-40 record. Montreal is third in the National League East Division with a 38-33 record.
