"Jim was just locating so well and using his pitches," Tucson manager Cameron Lammers said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Magnuson recorded 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Portland manager <Craig Wanger:coach#254> said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
