Joe Nossek really did a number on the Reno Silver Sox -- and the Silver Sox did one right back on Nossek's team, the Modesto Reds, taking the Del Webb Field contest, 12-7.
Nossek delivered a huge 5-for-5 performance for Modesto, but did not deliver the victory.
"I felt real good in the batter's box," the 29-year-old right fielder said after putting up a game for the ages. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done."

Even as a kid, Joe Nossek said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At San Jose Municipal Stadium, Nossek showed how well he learned that lesson.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
