Veale Blames Traffic for Tardiness

Showing up late for work can be costly, as Bob Veale learned today.

Veale is expected to be fined or benched for the team's next game after showing up to the ballpark 30 minutes late. He could be heard screaming "I got stuck in traffic!" as he ran down the hallway to talk to manager Danny Murtaugh about the situation.

"I heard his explanation," said Murtaugh. "It's still unacceptable. He should know better and should take responsibility for his actions. Sure, it was probably an honest mistake, but he should take traffic into account -- leave 30 minutes earlier next time."
