Muser Gets 6 Hits
Colonels first baseman Tony Muser had his way with Tidewater pitching at Fairgrounds Stadium and mauled them for 6 hits in 7 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Tides ruined his great day by toppling the Colonels, 9-7.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Tidewater credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 6 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Muser did today," Tides skipper <Chris Seibert:coach#236> said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Tony Muser walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, doubled in the 12th and singled in the 13th.
Muser is currently hitting at a .226 pace with no home runs and 7 RBIs. He has played in 31 games and scored 14 times.
