Poulsen Stops Burlington Cold, Eagles Win, 8-0

Ken Poulsen of the Kinston Eagles spun his magic on the Burlington Senators. He blanked them, 8-0, on 5 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and no walks.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Poulsen said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Kinston skipper Ross Wuestenberg said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."

"Ken pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.

His record this year is 1-2 in 4 starts and Poulsen has a 3.15 ERA.
