Branscomb Goes 5-for-6 Against Mobile
It was a high-five day for Marvin Branscomb, at least for a while.
The Asheville left fielder got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the Mobile White Sox, but they were in short supply at the end, as Mobile won the game, 4-3. Branscomb finished with an impressive 5-for-6 line, but the Tourists couldn't hold off the White Sox.
"Marvin was hitting everything," said Tourists manager Jerry Flores. "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion."
Marvin Branscomb singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, flied out in the 10th and singled in the 12th.
This season, Branscomb has hit at a .276 clip with 9 RBIs, 1 home runs and 8 runs scored. He has played in 38 games.
