Dodgers Deal Joshua to Angels for Voss
It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Los Angeles Dodgers and California Angels finalized a trade today. Los Angeles will send 22-year old minor league LF Von Joshua and 20-year old minor league LHP Gregory Wellman to the Angels, while the Dodgers will receive 26-year old RF Bill Voss.
"We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Dodgers general manager <Victor Baca:coach#152> said.
The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day.
Voss has a lifetime .220 average and .289 on-base percentage in his career with 127 hits, 13 doubles, 7 triples, 5 home runs, 58 RBIs and 56 runs scored.
Dodgers Looking to Deal
The Los Angeles Dodgers and the California Angels have been hammering out the details of a potential trade. Of late, however, Los Angeles has backed off over unspecified concerns. It is too soon to know whether or not negotiations will resume.
Los Angeles leads the pack in the National League West Division, while California is third in the American League West Division.
