"I don't know what to call that," the Memphis third baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."

Arkansas Goes Scoreless Against Magness, Braves
Fans at Braves Field witnessed the Shreveport Braves blank the Arkansas Travelers, 3-0, on the strength of a superb effort from starter Michael Magness. The Shreveport right-hander allowed 5 hits in recording the shutout.
"Michael was good today, but I don't want to focus too much on a single game," Shreveport manager Josh Rollings said. "If you're capable of playing at this level, you're capable of having a good game. The real question is if you can learn from that game and repeat it."
