Shaw Raps Fresno for 5 Hits

Reno center fielder Larry Shaw had a big day at Moana Stadium against the Fresno Giants. The 21-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 3-1 Silver Sox triumph over Fresno.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Shaw said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Larry Shaw singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 7th.

This year, Shaw has hit 1 home run and posted a .300 batting average.
