Milwaukee Swaps Locker to Cincinnati for Zachry
The Brewers have reached a deal with Cincinnati, sending 32-year old RHP Bob Locker to the Reds in exchange for 18-year old minor league RHP Pat Zachry and 22-year old minor league RHP Stanley Kmet. Reports had been hinting at a deal in recent days, but weren't confirmed until this afternoon.
For the season, Locker is 3-and-1 with 2 saves and a 1.47 ERA. He has given up 33 hits in 49 innings with 34 strikeouts.
Negotiations Building Between Brewers and Reds
League sources report that the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cincinnati Reds want to negotiate a trade. Talks so far have been "vigorous," according to one insider. It remains to be seen which players might be moved.
