IL Player of the Week Named

It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Don Baylor, the Rochester Red Wings 20-year-old center fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for International League Player of the Week honors.

He ripped 14 hits in 30 at-bats, compiling a .467 average with 1 home run and 4 RBIs.

Thus far this season, Baylor has hit .346 with 9 home runs, 35 RBIs and scored 43 times.

April's #1 Batter Announced

Don Baylor, the Rochester center fielder, certainly made a name for himself this past month. He banged out a .345 batting average with 19 hits, 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 9 times.

That kind of hitting earned him the International League Batter of the Month honors for April.
