Tidewater Shuts Out Colonels, Matlack Winner

In a very sharp performance at Fairgrounds Stadium, Jon Matlack of the Tidewater Tides blanked the Louisville Colonels, 8-0. He permitted 4 hits and finished with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks in the Tides victory.

"Jon goes out there and just goes about his business," Tides manager Chris Seibert said in his postgame press conference. "I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. No matter the pitch, you know he's going to be where he needs to be."

Matlack has started 8 times this year, pitched 55.2 innings, fanned 46 batters and walked 14. His current record is 4 wins and 3 losses with a 3.23 ERA.
