BNN Top 100 Prospects List Updated
With the mid-season mark upon us, now is a great time to update the pre-season BNN Top 100 Prospect list with what we have learned to this point. This year, 22 year-old C Carlton Fisk of the Boston Red Sox is the #1 prospect overall.

Downing Claims NORL Batter of the Month Award
Brian Downing may be much younger than other hitters in the Northern League, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in April to win the Batter of the Month award.
The 19-year-old Duluth-Superior catcher hit .379 with 1 home run, 12 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
Downing Sizzles -- Smokes Expos for 6 Hits
Brian Downing was sizzling at the plate. In a game played at Wade Stadium, the Duluth-Superior catcher blistered the Watertown Expos for 6 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a good 16-6 victory.
"Downing was too tough to get out," Expos skipper <Jacob Yeary:coach#627> said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
Brian Downing hit a GRAND SLAM off Charlie Jackson in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
