Big Day with Bat: Hunt 5-for-5

Ron Hunt really did a number on the Pittsburgh Pirates -- and the Pirates did one right back on Hunt's team, the San Francisco Giants, taking the Candlestick Park contest, 12-5.

Hunt delivered a huge 5-for-5 performance for San Francisco, but did not deliver the victory.

"I felt real good in the batter's box," the 29-year-old second baseman said after putting up a game for the ages. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done."

Ron Hunt doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

In his season totals, Hunt has 1 home run, .281 BA, .370 OBP, 19 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has played in 60 games.
